Global Sales Growth for Renault Group in H1 2025

Renault Group has reported a significant increase in its overall sales during the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. The company sold a total of 1,169,773 vehicles globally, marking a 1.3% rise from the previous year. This growth is attributed to a combination of strategic initiatives, market expansion, and strong performance across multiple regions.

Strong Performance in Europe

Despite a decline in the European passenger car (PC) market by 1.0%, Renault Group saw a notable 5.4% increase in sales within the region. A total of 708,106 vehicles were registered in Europe, with the Sandero and Clio models leading as top sellers. The Renault brand itself experienced a 2.7% growth in global sales, reaching 808,413 units.

Outside of Europe, the Renault brand achieved an impressive 16.3% growth, outpacing the overall market's 4.7% increase. This success is largely due to the Renault International Game Plan 2027, which has already contributed to 36% of the brand’s sales being generated outside of Europe.

Regional Growth and Market Expansion

In Latin America, Renault saw a 24% increase in sales, driven by strong performances in Brazil and Argentina. The brand also leads in Colombia with a 14.6% market share. Additionally, sales in Morocco and South Korea showed substantial growth, thanks to the launch of the Kardian model and the continued success of the Grand Koleos.

Commercial Vehicle Segment

Although the commercial vehicle market faced a decline, Renault maintained its position as the second-largest player in the European light commercial vehicle (LCV) market. This demonstrates the company’s resilience and ability to adapt to changing market conditions.

Electrification Strategy and Market Response

Renault's electrification strategy is gaining momentum, with electric vehicle sales in Europe rising by 57%. This growth is primarily driven by the Renault 5 E-Tech electric model. Hybrid vehicle sales also increased by more than 36%, showing a growing consumer preference for eco-friendly options.

In the C and higher segments, Renault's sales surged by 52%, with models such as the Austral, Espace, and Rafale contributing significantly to this growth.

Dacia Brand Performance

The Dacia brand experienced a slight dip in global sales, with a 0.7% decrease. This was partly due to the Duster model being rebranded under the Renault brand in Turkey. However, Dacia continued to perform well in Europe, with a 1.1% increase in sales and a 4.5% market share.

Dacia's electrification efforts are also showing positive results, with 23.5% of its registrations featuring electrified engines. Hybrid vehicles accounted for 17.2% of Dacia's sales, highlighting the brand's commitment to sustainability.

Alpine's Continued Growth

Alpine, the premium brand under Renault, also saw significant growth, with an 85% increase in registrations. The A290 model played a key role in this success, with 3,699 global registrations recorded. Alpine plans to expand its presence further, with around 200 Alpine Stores expected to be operational this year. A new store is set to open in Ireland this summer.

Future Plans and New Launches

Looking ahead, Renault plans to continue its focus on electric vehicles in Europe. The company will introduce a new, more affordable version of the Renault 5 E-Tech, priced at €25,000. In addition, the group will launch seven new vehicles this year, including the electric Renault 4 E-Tech, the Dacia Bigster, and the Boreal for international markets. Two facelifts for the Renault Austral and Renault Espace are also planned.

Leadership Changes

Recently, the Renault Group’s board of directors announced the appointment of Duncan Minto as the interim CEO of Renault SA. This change in leadership comes as the company continues to navigate a dynamic automotive landscape.

With a strong foundation built on innovation, market expansion, and a commitment to sustainability, Renault Group is well-positioned for continued success in the coming years.
