A Unique Experience with Two Very Different Vehicles

Jake Owen, a well-known country singer, has always been in the spotlight — whether it's during his performances or on social media. However, he never anticipated the reaction he received from driving a Tesla Cybertruck. In a recent Instagram video, Owen shared an amusing and somewhat surprising story about two distinct experiences at the same Starbucks, highlighting how his choice of vehicle sparked strong reactions.

A Love for Classic Cars

Owen has always had a passion for cars, starting from his childhood. He recalls that one of his biggest dreams was to own a cool car. He even drove to Nashville in a 2000 Toyota 4Runner, a vehicle he still owns and proudly drives. Recently, he took his classic SUV to a local Starbucks, where he had a pleasant encounter with a stranger who admired his 4Runner.

“I got out of my 4Runner, and this guy randomly asked, ‘Dude, is that your 4Runner out there?’ I said, ‘Yeah dude. Isn’t that thing sweet?’” Owen shared. The two bonded over their mutual appreciation for classic Toyotas, making for a great coffee run experience.

A New Addition to the Garage

A few days later, Owen returned to the same Starbucks, but this time, he arrived in his brand-new Tesla Cybertruck. Originally, he planned to sell it after putting down a $100 deposit, but one test drive changed everything. “I got home and drove it, and this thing is bada–. Like a freaking spaceship. I don’t even have to drive it. I take my hands off the wheel — it drives me,” he exclaimed.

However, not everyone was impressed by his new vehicle. As Owen walked into Starbucks, a stranger immediately noticed the Cybertruck and reacted strongly. “I get out, and he’s like, ‘Is that yours? That Cybertruck?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, I mean I am driving it.’ He goes, ‘F–k you, traitor.’” Owen was taken aback by the comment, questioning if it was real.

Controversy Surrounding the Cybertruck

The Tesla Cybertruck has been a subject of controversy, especially due to Elon Musk's involvement with the Trump administration. Although the connection has lessened, the stigma around the vehicle remains. Owen joked, “If you want to get picked on, drive a Cybertruck. If you don’t want to get picked on, just go back to the 2000 Toyota 4Runner.”

A Surprising Comeback

Despite the insult, Owen managed to keep his composure and even found a humorous twist. “The best part of the story is the guy was there to pick up his blended Frappuccino,” he said with a grin. “So the guy who told me to F-off and that I’m a traitor was picking up his to-go order blended Frappuccino.”

Owen concluded his story with a thought-provoking question: “So I don’t know who’s in the wrong here: Me for driving the Cybertruck, or this guy for ordering a blended Frappuccino?” The answer, of course, is up to each individual to decide.
